Coaches around Denver are blowing their whistles as they begin springtime practice in the Rockies. New leagues have formed, practice and game schedules have been distributed, and athletes all around Colorado are participating in Springtime sports. - High school athletes account for an estimated 2 million injuries per year
- Children ages 5-14 account for nearly 40% of all sports-related injuries treated in hospitals. On average, the rate and severity of injury increases with a child’s age.
- 21% of all US traumatic brain injuries occur among children participating in sports and recreational activities.
