Shanyn nickname Shanie, graduated from Northeastern University with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2012 as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitation Science. A true Bostonian, Shanie worked her first 2 years on the North Shore of Massachusetts by her hometown of Marblehead. She has experience in a variety of musculoskeletal, neurological and sports related injuries and diagnoses. Shanie is a manual based therapist with an approach to treatment that focuses on corrective and preventative exercises coupled with hands-on manual therapy to achieve functional outcomes. She has completed continuing education coursework in the McKenzie approach for spinal rehabilitation as well as a functional movement course. She also has experience in the Graston Technique. She has a strong background in the treatment of Sacroiliac Joint Dysfunction and uses corrective stabilization and manual techniques to relieve pain and restore function. She has a particular interest in the treatment of headaches, cervical and lumbar radiculopathy, the shoulder complex, knee injuries and post-surgical rehabilitation. In her spare time, Shanie participates in outdoor activities and endurance events such as Tough Mudders and Goruck Challenges. She participates in several different fundraisers including the MGH Run to Home Base, The National Breast Cancer Foundation, Wounded Warrior Project and the Green Beret Foundation.
